Ping Pong Ball Drop

Family Fun Day

This is a unique experience for thousands of onlookers. Spread the Music Foundation Inc. sells 6,000 ping pong balls at $10 each. They are then dropped out of one of the Whirlybirds Inc’s helicopters at 150 feet on to a designated target.

The participants that purchase the two ping pong balls that land closest to the center of the target each win $5,000, the third closest ping pong ball— a 2 year car lease from Lemmen Grand. This year we had 8 additional prizes which included a 2008 membership at Grand Haven Golf Club, three night stay at Harbor House Inn, his and her bicycles from Mercury Store and Lock, Weekend in Manhattan from Hilton Club New York, 4 tires from Z Tire, $1000 Gift Certificate to Best Buy, 250 square feet of hardwood flooring materials and installation ($2000 value) and a signed guitar by Jorma Kaukonen (and 5 other well known artists) from Jefferson Airplane as well as numerous other prizes that were won by many.

Held at the Grand Haven Memorial Airpark, the Family Fun Day was a day filled with excitement to share with your family. There was over sixty free activities such as face painting, live music, games, free ReMax hot air balloon rides and of course, the main event, the Ping Pong Ball Drop. The event united fifty plus business, as well as the community, together in a positive way. It was fun and enjoyable for all ages.
